Knoxville hosts annual Veterans Day Parade

A parade will begin at 10:45 the corner of Lincoln Way and Cleveland Street and will proceed down Lincoln Way. The event's theme: "Argonne to Afghanistan: 100 years of the American Veteran".

The theme will be "Honoring Veterans Who Continue To Serve", with veterans giving accounts of their experiences serving their nation and community.

Free rides on Birmingham MAX bus - The Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) will offer free rides on the upcoming Veterans Day holiday.

The Mississippi National Guard hosted a Veteran's Day Memorial and wreath-laying ceremony Friday, November 10 at the Mississippi War Memorial in Jackson.

Proceeds will benefit the CNY Veterans Outreach Center.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Hingham Town Hall will be hosting a breakfast for military personell and their families, followed by a ceremony at 11 a.m. and a wreath laying.

Any Veteran, active duty military and military spouse who visits Starbucks on November 11 will be treated to a free tall coffee. Veteran's Day is Saturday and businesses all over east Idaho are using the occasion to offer freebies and deals for our vets.

The ceremony includes remarks from Huey Smith, a World War II veteran.

All current and former members of the military are invited to arrive from 10-10:30 socialize, enjoy coffee and bagels and be seated in a reserved section.

Hosted by the Lewis and Clark County Veterans Memorial Foundation, this solemn ceremony is meant to recognize veterans from Lewis and Clark County and throughout the nation who are serving or have served, and those who have paid the ultimate price through selfless military service.

Baldwin Park's 26th annual Veterans Day ceremony will begin at 1 Morgan Park and be highlighted by a parachute demonstration by the Golden Stars Skydiving Team.

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn is scheduled to be the keynote speaker. Boy Scout Troupe 29 will also place flags and crosses on graves at the cemetery. Winners of the Virginia War Memorial's annual Veterans Day Essay Contest for middle and high school students will be announced, with the winners reading their essays. From 1971-1977, Veterans Day was held in late October.
