Reese Witherspoon & Jennifer Aniston Starring in Apple TV Series

This is a huge get for Apple's original content division, which spent considerable resources in order to win the series from other platforms like Netflix.

The show will take an inside look at the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning, while exploring the unique challenges faced by those working in the industry.

The now untitled Aniston-Witherspoon drama received a straight to series, two season order with ten episodes per season, and we're Madeline Martha Mackenzie-level excited.

This is Apple's second straight-to-series project to be announced, following a revival of Steven Spielberg's "Amazing Stories". Maybe: the tech giant revealed Wednesday that it's found another scripted series to eat up some of its $1 billion original-programming budget.

Why Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) Might Get Into A Pricing War With Disney
Iger also revealed that Disney's new service will be priced "substantially below" Netflix , at least when it initially launches. Disney was making all the right strategic decisions as it builds out the streaming business, Evercore ISI's Vijay Jayant said .

As well as marking Jennifer's first regular small screen gig since Friends, the 20-episode drama will also see the two stars reunite for the first time since they portrayed sisters in the hugely-popular NBC sitcom in 2000. Now it's making another one with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.

The untitled Aniston-Witherspoon drama hails from Michael Ellenberg's Media Res studio, Aniston's Echo Films and Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine banner. Under the model employed by Media Res, Witherspoon and Aniston will have ownership in the series alongside the company. Jay Carson (House of Cards) is penning the pilot and will serve as the series showrunner.

CNN reporter Brian Stelter's book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV will serve as research material and background for the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Reimagining the original anthology, Amazing Stories, executive produced by Spielberg in partnership with Bryan Fuller, "will transport the audience to worlds of wonder through the lens of today's most imaginative filmmakers, directors and writers".
