Wizards star to miss 2 weeks with knee injury

The Washington Wizards will be without the services of guard John Wall for the next two weeks after he underwent an MRI on Friday.

Wall experienced left knee discomfort and inflammation after bumping knees with a member of the Dallas Mavericks during their game on November 7, the team said. The doctors decided that Wall would receive platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and viscosupplementation injections in hopes of reducing the inflammation in his knee. The point guard started two games earlier this season, averaging 33.5 minutes, 5.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.0 assists.

The Wizards will need to rely heavily on their next best playmaker Bradley Beal, who has scored at least 20 points in his last five games and has failed to score 20 or more only four times this season.

If Wall's return timetable is truly two weeks, it will be interesting to see if Washington can stay afloat.

Backup Tim Frazier will replace Wall in the starting lineup, with Tomas Satoransky moving into the rotation.

The Wizards have had a lot of up and downs already this season. He's appeared in seven of the team's eight games in the subsequent days.
