Coach arrested in NY with teen to return to Florida

They expect Florida authorities to travel to NY to get Rodriguez this week.

A New York State Trooper found 27-year-old Rian Rodriguez and the girl in Syracuse on Friday. The arrest warrant affidavit also mentioned that Frisina's parents called the authorities on November 26, saying they "discovered [Caitlyn] moved items in her bedroom and exited through her bedroom window". Frisina was detained and her family was told she was located, the sheriff's office said. Rodriguez has been working as a boys' soccer coach at Fort White High School, but he has been suspended pending the investigation, according to a statement from Lex Carswell, superintendent of Columbia County Schools.

Meanwhile, new details are emerging in the case as cops say a student at the school went to officials back in August, claiming he had heard Frisina and the soccer coach were "in a relationship". The teen's friend later revealed to the anxious parents that Frisina had previously "hooked up" with Rodriguez, the affidavit stated.

"We are so thankful and blessed to have our handsome daughter Caitlyn Morgan Frisina back with us", said Scarlet.

Frisina was reunited with her family over the weekend in Syracuse. He faces the charge of interference with child custody, a third-degree felony, in Florida.

Caitlyn's mother, Scarlet Frisina, spoke on behalf of her family Monday, thanking the Lake City community, the media and law enforcement for their efforts to safely return her daughter.

Rodriguez had not been arrested or charged late Friday, according to NY state police.

Caitlyn's father, Ward Frisina, told police that after checking his daughter's bank account, he saw that she withdrew $200 from an ATM in St. Marys, Georgia.

Although Frisina reportedly wiped her phone clean of data before she vanished, her father managed to salvage Snapchat messages from her SIM card.

"Once they know they're going to be interviewed and talked to by several different people, they may have gotten the cold shoulder", Smith said.
