'House of Cards' to resume production, without Spacey

HOUSE OF CARDS Season 6 will resume production in 2018, without original star Kevin Spacey, Netflix boss Ted Sarandos announced Monday. "We are excited to bring closure to fans", he was quoted as saying.

The final season, which will have eight episodes, was planned before the bombshell allegations against Spacey.

Production on the political drama had been suspended in the wake of sexual harassment allegations against Spacey.

Sarandos added he was thrilled to have been able to reach the deal for the 370 people who directly work on the popular series and "the 2,000 people in Baltimore" who have jobs working for "HOC". The streaming giant similarly decided not to move forward with a film starring Spacey as Gore Vidal.

Lavrov also spoke of having "the impression over the last two months that there is someone in Washington who wants to provoke new actions" by North Korea.

Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of sexually assaulting when he was 14 years old and numerous allegations have since emerged against the actor. Initially it was expected that production would start again after Thanksgiving, but scriptwriters continue to work on new scripts, of which now has to disappear character of Frank Underwood, co-star of history.

It was announced in an official statement by Netflix that the company would no longer be affiliated with the once, critically-acclaimed actor following the on-going accusations against him. However, this may not be the end for House of Cards; sources surfaced in recent weeks claiming its spirit will live on in the form of a spin-off series.

There's a new lead in town to finish House of Cards. The character has always been despicable, and now that Spacey's alleged actions have come to light, one imagines there's not a strong desire to give Frank Underwood an emotional farewell. Deadline reports that it will be an abridged season of eight-episodes used to wrap things up in a satisfying manner.
