Mariah Carey will headline 'Rockin' New Year's Eve' despite last year's disaster

Mariah Carey kicked off 2017 with a trainwreck performance on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest. She will perform at 11:45 PM for what's being called a "redemptive" performance. But it was announced on Friday that Mariah Carey is returning to New Year's Rockin' Eve this year, and there's a strong chance that the singer will be able to redeem herself this time around. The "All I Want For Christmas Is You" singer stopped singing during the performance a few times and was visibly upset despite a pre-recorded track playing in the background.

Carey's camp claimed the production company sabotaged her show with technical glitches, including a faulty ear piece.

"We can all agree that past year didn't go exactly as planned and we are thrilled to move forward together to provide America with an incredible night of music and celebration on", Dick Clark Productions and Carey said in a joint statement.

"All I can say is Dick Clark was an incredible person and I was lucky enough to work with him when I first started in the music business", Carey told Entertainment Weekly. The 47-year-old songstress confirmed the news by tweeting, "Take 2", alongside a promo poster for the performance regarding her return.

"They played brilliantly and fought like it was the game of their lives". "It was his first piece of silverware at United". City manager Pep Guardiola also defended his players, although he offered an apology to United.

Carey should be a huge ratings lure, because last year's performance was so widely discussed.

Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy will host the year-end program live from New York City's Times Square on ABC at 8PM ET. The show is marking its 46 anniversary, and Seacrest has hosted from Times Square for the past 12 years. She's now managed by Roc Nation.

In a statement on November 4, Bulochnikov said: "After working together for nearly three years, Mariah Carey and Stella Bulochnikov have determined that it is in their mutual best interest to part ways on day-to-day management".
