Georgia Tech Coach Josh Pastner Named In Sexual Assault Lawsuit

A Tucson-area couple has filed a lawsuit against Georgia Tech basketball coach Josh Pastner, claiming sexual assault and sexual battery by the former University of Arizona standout. His Yellow Jackets hit the court just hours after he was named in a sexual harassment suit by the girlfriend of former friend Ron Bell. She alleges Pastner attempted to force himself on her in the hotel room where she and Bell were staying during Pastern's time as the head coach of the Memphis basketball team.

The relationship between he and Bell has deteriorated immensely over the past two years after Bell alleged Pastner was aware of recruiting violations at Georgia Tech.

In response to the counterclaim, Scott Tompsett, Pastner's attorney says "There was no sexual assault". Tompsett calls Bell's and Pendley's allegations "malicious lies" and seeks to shed light on aspects of the couple's behavior that counters their claims in the lawsuit.

"I am disgusted and devastated by the actions of two individuals to whom I showed compassion", Pastner said. Pendley has not reported the allegations to police, but said Thursday that she is considering filing charges.

In a text from August 2016, Page told Strzok that he was "meant to protect the country from that menace", referring to Trump. More examples of Strzok's and Page's opposition to President Donald Trump were also found in the newly-released texts .

The lawsuit said Pendley did not tell Bell about the incident, but alleges Pastner continued to harass the woman nearly a dozen more times between February 14 and March 3. She told Bell about the assault in October, according to the suit. The statement goes on to highlight Bell's alleged criminal past and "long history of dishonest and antisocial behavior".

Pastner, 40, took over as Georgia Tech's men's basketball coach in 2016.

But coach Josh Pastner had much more important things to worry about during the game.

"I absolutely and unequivocally never assaulted or harassed Ms. Pendley and I am truly sickened by these false claims".
