It is also a showcase for government institutions and services, both Saudi and global.

The External Affairs Minister reached Riyadh on Tuesday on her first official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 2017, the festival drew a total of about 6.8 million visitors.

Al Janadria started in 1985 under the patronage of the ruling monarch.

Saudi Arabia is home to more than 3 million Indian people and ties between the two countries are on an upswing in the last few years especially after the landmark visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Gulf Kingdom in April 2016.

A large technology hub could take shape in Saudi Arabia, if talks between Saudi Aramco and Google parent company Alphabet result in a deal. There will be displays and representations by various Ministries and Departments including Ordnance Factories Board, ISRO, Ministry of AYUSH, India Tourism Board, Ministries of Shipping, Textiles and Food Processing Industries.

The pavilion will include exhibits on cultural, social and folkloric heritage, traditional fashion, Indian perfumes, bridal fashion, and archaeology, among other topics.
