Walking Dead's Lauren Cohan Signs On For New TV Project

While she will be a series regular on Whiskey Cavalier, I hear her deal allows the actress potentially to return to The Walking Dead, reprising her fan-favorite role as Maggie on a recurring basis should she is able to make a new pact with AMC.

Entertainment Weekly revealed that Lauren will star in the pilot for a new drama, Whiskey Cavalier. Now, it appears the actor has begun to consider her future without the hit series, as she has signed on for the ABC pilot Whiskey Cavalier, a show described as a "high-octane hour-long action dramedy".

The network claims to have made generous offers to re-sign Cohan but other sources have said those offers are "lowball". Cohan reportedly wanted her salary to be closer to her male co-stars, Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus, but AMC was unwilling to meet her demands.

Whiskey Cavalier will also star Scandal's Scott Foley, telling the adventures of a "tough but tender" Federal Bureau of Investigation agent named Will Chase (codename: Whiskey Cavalier).

Members of both parties in that committee have openly considered sanctioning Bannon for refusing to answer their questions. Walking past the cameras, Bannon declined to say whether he would answer all of the committee's questions.

News of the contract negotiation snag broke a couple weeks ago, but this is the first time anyone's speaking out about it. Produced by Bill Lawrence, Foley's character is an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent who has to work with a "quick and cunning" CIA operative (played by Cohan) to lead an inter-agency team of spies to save the world while "navigating the rocky roads of friendship, romance, and office politics".

Current Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple recently told TVLine that he was "incredibly hopeful" Cohan would choose to stick with the zombie smash, although the EP acknowledged that a Maggie-less Season 9 was a possibility. Cohan, as "Frankie" Trowbridge, will star alongside Scandal star Scott Foley's Will Chase. As they trade their quarry back and forth, the two of them get in each other's way, each other's secrets and each other's line of fire.
