Winter Olympics 2018 drone show was "secretly pre-recorded"

Winter Olympics 2018 drone show was

USA viewers tuned in to a tape-delayed broadcast on Friday night that showed rehearsal footage from December, when Intel's light show broke the Guinness World Record for flying the most drones, 1,280, simultaneously. You can read an in-depth explanation of how Intel made everything work, setting a record for the "most unmanned aerial vehicles airborne simultaneously", here.

The opening ceremony showed the unification of countries by lighting up the sky with drones and fireworks.

"And while more drones does provide a broader canvas, it perhaps more importantly affords a better sense of depth".

In addition to the drone show for the opening ceremony, Intel designed and developed custom animations keyed to different sports for the Olympics' nightly victory ceremonies.

The drone performance was put on by Intel, which has been delivering similarly impressive drone-based light performances over the last few years.

Police looking for woman who abandoned newborn baby in Arizona airport bathroom
Authorities described the mystery woman as being aged in her mid-20s and said she was wearing black leggings and a coat. A custodian from the airport says she discovered pools of blood on the bathroom floor shortly after the woman left.

This convergence of technology and art broke records according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Hot of the back of a drone display at CES in Las Vegas, they are using the drone displays to begin conversations about their technology and are even showing off the future of connectivity with a 5G demonstration at the Olympics Winter Games.

Intel is among the corporate sponsors for the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang that are taking the opportunity to promote its products and services before the global audience. The fleet of drones is controlled by one pilot.

Each drone weighs about as much as a volleyball and is fitted with LEDs that can beam any shape with 4 billion color combinations.

Because Intel's drones had never flown in such cold temperatures, members of the drone light show team ventured to the Alps to test how they would operate in minus-10 degree Celsius weather.

Intel is the official drone partner of the Olympic games.
