Serena Williams ousted from WTA Indian Wells tennis by sister Venus Williams

Asked about the semi-final match that never happened, Serena said she has tried to forget. "So it is what it is".

She's already won a record 23 Grand Slam titles, given birth to an adorable baby girl and started her very own fashion line, but Serena Williams is far from done.

Venus' last defeat of her younger sister was at the Canadian Open in 2014, where she prevailed in a three-set semi-final.

Serena then took center stage, needing just under two hours to dispatch Bertens, of the Netherlands, 7-6 (7/5), 7-5.

"I really abhor every time we play, but I do enjoy the battle when I'm out there", Serena said, per Melissa Isaacson of the tournament's official site. "Great way to come back".

With Serena Williams coming back last week after 14 months away, she, and everyone watching, were taking it one match at a time. Serena showed that there's still a little rust that she needs to shake off, making more unforced errors than she usually commits.

The 27-year-old world No. 2 Wozniacki moves on to the fourth round where she will face either reigning US Open champion Sloane Stephens or 20th seed Daria Kasatkina of Russian Federation.

Wozniacki had been one of seven women who held the No. 1 ranking who hadn't won a Grand Slam when she triumphed in Melbourne in January.

Apple Music now boasts more than 38 million subscribers
Spotify was launched in 2008 and now has some 159 million users, 88 million of whom use the free version. Apple Music competes with leading paid music platforms like Google and Amazon in the race.

Venus and Serena are scheduled to face each other after 2 p.m. ET on Monday, live on the Tennis Channel and streaming online at WatchESPN.

The fans' reaction in California came after Venus pulled out of her semifinal with Serena just before the tussle, citing a knee injury. "So it is what it is", said Serena.

"That's totally gone out of my mind", she said. First of all, 17 years ago seems like forever ago.

"I have a lot of goals".

The 22-time Grand Slam victor was competing for the first time on the WTA tour since the birth of her daughter.

After losing the first four games of the match, Vesnina responded by winning five on the bounce for a chance to serve for the set.

The No 8 seed will go on to face Latvian Anastasija Sevastova, who beat Julia Goerges in straight sets 6-3 6-3.

Danish second seed Caroline Wozniacki beat Spaniard Lara Arruabarrena 6-4 6-1, while Ukrainian fourth seed Elina Svitolina defeated German Mona Barthel 6-4 6-3.
