Los Angeles Rams: Tavon Austin trade helped clear cap space for rookies

Martavis Bryant got a fresh start on Thursday, and now Tavon Austin is the latest wide receiver to be traded, as he goes from the Los Angeles Rams to the Dallas Cowboys.

After an electric career at West Virginia, Austin became the eighth overall pick in the 2013 draft but thus far hasn't evolved into an impact pro. After restructuring his contract, Austin will cost the Cowboys $5 million next season.

Austin has three punt returns for touchdowns over five seasons, but his last one would come in 2015.

Royal Dutch Shell plc (RDS-B) stock price surged with Upswing change of 6.51% when it was compared to 20-day moving average. The stock of Royal Dutch Shell plc (NYSE:RDS.A) earned "Buy" rating by Scotia Capital on Thursday, December 21.

From adding depth to the offensive line with players Joseph Noteboom and Brian Allen to from filling needs at linebacker with Micah Kiser, Los Angeles has plenty of reasons to be thrilled with their selections from this year's draft. Austin could be that type of player. Used mainly as a decoy, Austin only caught 13 passes and put up just 317 total yards of offense. Although his price tag makes him expendable, the former first round pick has a chance to prove himself as a valuable member of America's Team. He's also contributed with 1,238 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. Dallas drafted Michael Gallup in the third round Friday.

Tavon Austin now officially joins that group.
