NY eyeing Jerry Stackhouse as next head coach

The New York Knicks fired head coach Jeff Hornacek after the team returned home from its season finale in Cleveland, and several big names have already been mentioned as possibilities to replace him.

Sources said Mills and Perry informed Hornacek of his firing upon the team's return to suburban NY following a flight back from Cleveland, where the Knicks beat the Cavaliers 110-98.

In a competitive marketplace this spring, the mystique of Madison Square Garden as well as the resources and willingness to pay a lot in terms of coaching salary give NY a distinct advantage in recruiting available candidates. A source told Isola that some in the Knicks front office feel Wright would be flawless for the rebuilding project that is underway in NY.

Hawaii city and state lawmakers recognize 'Equal Pay Day'
Governor Steve Bullock presented the Governors Equal Pay Award to Don Laine, President and CEO of Anderson ZurMuehlen & Co. During the ceremony, Carvalho emphasized the importance of tackling equal pay for equal work as a state issue.

Though a person close to Wright told the Daily News that it would take a lot for him to leave.

Wright previously told The Athletic he doesn't see himself leaving for a job in the National Basketball Association.

Mills and Perry might want to provide Jackson with a homecoming, the St. John's alumnus having been drafted by the Knicks in 1987. They are out of the playoffs for the fifth season in a row, and they own just one playoff series victory in the past 18 years. Additionally, ESPN reports that the Knicks plan to contact Jerry Stackhouse, the head coach of Toronto 905, the Raptors' G League affiliate. What Knicks fans are fearing most right now is the interest that the organization has in LeBron's old doormat coach, David Blatt (oh dear God, no). Mills and Perry apparently weren't pleased with the results, though they knew the Knicks were rebuilding with younger players. The long-time assistant experienced some success in his only head-coaching gig with the Memphis Grizzlies, leading what is now one of the worst teams in the league to the playoffs last season.
