Apple Ditching 3D Touch In 2018 Entry-Level iPhone X2

While the 6.1-inch iPhone will miss out on OLED display and 3D touch, it will still retain the iPhone X bezel-less design and the infamous notch on the top. This display technology, called the Cover Glass Sensor (CGS) will be slightly ahead of the current one used in the iPhone X, although it could cost between $23 and $26.

Some users are not too excited about this plan, given that the 3D Touch has been very useful since it was first introduced in the iPhone 6S.

Apple is rumored to be working on its largest iPhone ever and two other phones.

According to a Forbes report, the upcoming iPhone SE2 will feature the exact same body as the 2012-era iPhone 5 and the 2016-made iPhone SE. Fiscal second-quarter iPhone unit sales are expected to be 51.9 million, up from 50.8 million a year earlier, according to average analyst forecasts compiled by Bloomberg.

But analysts aren't panicking just yet, and that's all thanks to Apple's other revenue streams.

Rumours have also found its way to the mainstream suggesting that a "Lite" version of the iPhone X will be available. iPhone X being sold at a higher rate owing to its premium label will likely be succeeded by a more affordable version.

"The rumoured lineup could quickly change, and pricing remains a wild card - Apple appears to have somewhat mis-estimated price elasticity this time around, but what might they change going forward?"
