INDIANA SCHOOL SHOOTING: Teacher's brother says he was shot 3 times

In a post on Twitter Indiana Police officer John Perrine said the suspect has since been taken into custody and the families of the victims have been notified.

Seaman, a science teacher, was shot three times after a student armed with two handguns opened fire at Noblesville West Middle School in suburban Indianapolis on Friday morning, his mother said on social media. "We only say that we're praying for them, hoping they get through this situation", said Noblesville Police Department Lt. Bruce Barnes. Students said a 13-year-old girl was hit. The victims' conditions and identities are unknown. "We are also however aware of a second threat that's been made at Nobleville High School". The Florida attack inspired students from that school and others throughout the country to call for more restrictions on access to guns.

The Noblesville shooting is the second school shooting in eight days. IU Health Methodist Hospital confirmed that they are treating an adult shooting victim and Riley Hospital for Children confirmed that they are treating one teenage victim.

Parents can pick up West Middle School students at Noblesville High School, which was dismissed at 1 p.m. Parents of children at other schools can pick up their children at any time, but regular dismissals and buses were scheduled for those facilities.

Authorities referred to a prompt and heroic response at the school but didn't confirm accounts of the teacher tackling the student or describe the role of the resource officer who was stationed at the school.

"Staff were prepared; they knew what they were doing, and I couldn't be more proud". Eighth-grader Chris Navarro said he was inside an auditorium when he counted hearing 16 gunshots about a minute before the bell rang for the change in classes. He said a lockdown was immediately announced over the school's speaker. "When the safety of the kids is at hand, it's not surprising to me that he was going to do what he had to do". We need to get it right, we need to make sure we're taking care of the people we need to take care of first right now, and that's the victims in this case. "I got a "Mom, I'm scared" text message and other than that, it was "come get me at the high school, '" Higgins said". Here's everything you should know.
