Linda Sui, director at Strategy Analytics, added, "We estimate Xiaomi Redmi 5A shipped 5.4 million units for fifth place and 2 percent market share worldwide in Q1 2018".

Sales speculation surrounding Apple's iPhone X has been interesting to track. While Apple shipped 12.5 and 8.3 million units of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus since their launch past year, its previous-generation iPhone 7 shipped a decent 5.6 million units. Apple has now shifted nearly 50 million iPhone X units worldwide since commercial launch in November, while the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus shipped 12.5 million and 8.3 million units respectively for second and third position. The Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus shipped 12.5 and 8.3 million units to take second and third place, respectively. Globally, the total smartphone shipments was recorded at 345 million units in Q1. Collectively, Apple today made four of the world's six most popular smartphone models. Apple iPhone X is priced at Rs 95,390 for 64GB storage model, while the 128GB storage version costs Rs 1,08,930. The phone has been well received in the Asian continent.

For the last few months, there has been growing concern over the fate of the smartphone.

Fears of the iPhone X having weak sales were stoked by reports that Apple had cut its orders of components that it uses in the iPhone X, including flexible OLED screens from Samsung. Smart Portfolios LLC acquired a new position in Apple during the first quarter valued at approximately $134,000. The fact is, it's good to be in the smartphone business, and Apple knows that better than anyone.

The S9 Plus offers an attractive package for Android enthusiasts with a bezel-less design, curved display and a rich portfolio of apps.

The Android smartphone market was diametrically different.
