After the breakfast, there will be a parade and Memorial Day ceremonies at the bandstand. The goal of this event is to remember and honor the sacrifice and commitment to freedom of fallen venters by placing small American Flags on each grave site. Welcome address by Dee Fladwood, West Lawn Memorial Park; "The National Anthem" will be sung by Park High School student Christina Dressler; the Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Dee Fladwood; invocation given by Chaplain Dan Neiman, American Legion Post No. 494; "America The Beautiful" will be sung by Park High School student Christina Dressler; and the keynote speaker will be David Wiedenkeller as Francis Scott Key. Prior to the official services, community residents are invited to attend a ceremony honoring deceased and living veterans. Veterans who want to participate in this Grand March are requested to muster at 10:30 a.m. beneath the flag of their particular branch of the armed forces in the parking lot.

The Wadena Legion Post 631 will conduct a Memorial Day service Monday May 28, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the All Veterans Memorial by the Legion Hall.

Immediately following the ceremony, the "Rotary Club of Sonoma Valley and the Rotary Club of Sonoma Sunrise: All-American Picnic" will be served free of charge at the Veterans Building.

The Navy Memorial, located at 701 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, consists of a large plaza with a granite map of the world, the iconic Lone Sailor statue, 3,500 square-foot museum area, a 240-person theater, the Ship's Store which sells Navy memorabilia and the Navy Log, the nation's largest publicly available data base of sea service veterans. Representatives of Assemblyman Jay Obernolte and County Supervisor James Ramos are expected at the event scheduled for 9 a.m.at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds, 14800 Seventh St.in Victorville.

It's often thought of as the first outdoor cookout or camping weekend of the season, but for many veterans and their families, the last weekend in May signifies much more.

Forest Lake: 9 a.m. Monday at Lakeside Memorial Park, 56 E. Broadway Ave. Entertainment includes a live, 30-minute performance by Lady Gaga tribute artist Renee Nicole Gray and dancing to the futuristic sounds of 570 Events.

In Calaveras County there's a Memorial Day Concert planned 6:30 p.m.to 8 p.m. Monday at Murphys Community Park. There also will be a flyover. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m.to 1 p.m.in the church fellowship hall.

Irwin/North Huntingdon: Irwin/North Huntingdon VFW and Irwin American Legion will hold its annual parade at 10 a.m. with units forming at Immaculate Conception Church, Second Street.

Veterans Memorial Park, 339 N. Veterans Parkway, 8 a.m. - Retired Marine Gunnery Sgt. Todd Schroeder is the featured speaker. Musical selections by Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School band.

¯ The Busti Memorial Day parade will begin at 9 a.m. Step-off will take place at the Busti Tap House on Busti-Sugar Grove Road.

Gum Creek Cemetery marks the final resting place of veterans from numerous American wars, with 12 known Civil War veterans and one confirmed Seminole War veteran.

Chebanse American Legion Post 408 will host a Memorial Day service at 10 a.m. Monday at the Chebanse Evergreen Cemetery.
