OnePlus announces new flagship smartphone and wireless headphones

Since then it's evolved.

Crucially, it looks and feels good too.

It's out with the old, and in with the new. The midnight black and silk white variants of the phone have glass backs just like the mirror black and Avengers edition devices, but the matte finish means it doesn't show grime quite as clearly as the reflective finishes. Comparing to its predecessors previous year, this new OnePlus device sure looks sleek and different thanks to the Corning Gorilla 5 glass material wrapping the body. Additionally, the dual camera array is now positioned vertically in the center of the case above the led flash, while the fingerprint sensor is pill-shaped rather than circular.

The phone is daily water resistance or you can call it splash proof.

While introducing major aesthetic changes on the OnePlus 6, OnePlus has kept the device's box almost the same over its predecessor.

One downside here is that there's no official IP rating on this device, but that doesn't mean it can't handle getting wet. But it will surely have all those features that you would expect in a flagship. Altogether the device delivers a 90% Screen to body ratio which is great. This year is no different in that regard.

Take the OnePlus 6 out of its box and a few things hit you: bright display with notch on top, glossy glass back and a curved edged that is easier to hold.

Whether you love it or hate it, the smartphone notch is here to stay for now. The OnePlus 6 will be made available in three colour variants namely Midnight Black, Mirror Black and Silk White. It should be plenty for most, but it gets better than that. The device will come in two RAM option 6 GB and 8 GB and features three storage option 64/128/256 GB.

While all that RAM and the Snapdragon 845 do their part in ensuring a speedy performance, there's more too it than that. You'll be able to buy this smartphone from 21 May via stores Also, the company indicated that they are going to set up stores in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. Apps that you need to load quickly will do so. The OnePlus 6's contents on the other hand look to cater towards customer comfort a bit more.

It also has a gaming mode for offering better gaming performance and uninterrupted experience.

At the OnePlus 6 London launch event, it was also confirmed that the device will run Android 8.1 (Oreo) based on OxygenOS 5.1 and the whole package will be backed by a 3300mAh battery. It will be packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Octa-core processor. There is a bezel-less design as seen on the OnePlus 5T. We've been seeing this in the teasers thus far, and it's nice to see it in person as well. The Android P developer preview will be rolled out in a couple of days. The company says the battery can go from a depleted state to half a charge in less than 30 minutes. To provide users with as much screen real estate as possible, OnePlus designed the navigation bar so that it can be replaced with gesture control, freeing up even more viewing space for a cleaner look.

As well as moving the cameras into the centre, OnePlus has improved the optics.

The big news on the camera front is the addition of optical image stabilisation for the primary camera. Both have OIS to stabilise shaky shots. It is said that the developers at OnePlus have made around 200 optimizations to the OS to enhance the experience. Again, testing is required to say whether or not this is a marked improvement on the OnePlus 5T.
