Chapter 2, Verse 185 of the Holy Book states: "The month of Ramadan is that in which was revealed the Quran; a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the criterion (of right and wrong)". Eid al-Fitr, which means "festival of breaking the fast", marks the end of the month of Ramadan.

"Again, I would like to wish Muslims all the best in observing a month of fasting in this blessed Ramadan", he added.

"Police and the armed forces also play key roles in maintaining public order and security", he said in his Ramadan message issued here today. The holy month will end between June 14 and June 16 in different parts of the world.
