Donald Trump & Immigrant Child Featured On Time Magazine's Latest Cover

Time magazine has always known to come up with unique covers of raging issues and this time it's no different.

Today's TIME cover juxtaposes a cutout photo of US president Trump in profile, with another cutout from a well-known image of a family being detained at the US-Mexico border.

A Time magazine attempted to criticize President Donald Trump over family separations at the border, but was undone when a key detail undermine the attempted critique.

Time Magazine used a cutout of the little girl on its recent cover, where she was depicted confronting President Donald Trump. But I couldn't. This one was tough for me.

"As a father myself, it was very hard for me to see these families detained, knowing that they would soon be split up", Moore told Getty's blog Foto. "I had to stop and take deep breaths", he continued. "All I wanted to do was pick her up".

Moore has been covering the plight of immigrants on the US-Mexico border for years since the end of the George W Bush administration. Moore has documented diseases, wars and refugee crises across the world. "But I couldn't." Moore said he was able to speak to the mother briefly and learned that the little girl was a 2-year-old from Honduras. "I'm nearly positive these families last week had no idea they'd be separated from their children". The photograph of the Honduran girl was just another such experience of a family trying to cross over Rio Grande's northern bank.

When Sandra left on her journey with Yanela, she left Hernandez behind with three other children - Wesly (14), Cindy (11), and Brianna (6). As the spotlight fell on their faces, their faces exuded a mix of fear and relief. The magazine refuted his story, saying that's not how it chooses people.

Adults caught crossing the border illegally will be still held in custody and prosecuted, but their cases will be expedited and parents and children will be housed together at various federal facilities. It does not change the policy of charging all those apprehended crossing or attempting to cross the border with criminal charges, nor does it change any refugee status or procedure.
