Seoul: North Korea artillery withdrawal being discussed 'internally'

At the Singapore summit, the first meeting between a serving US president and a North Korean leader, Kim reaffirmed a commitment to work toward complete denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula, while Trump said he would halt joint U.S.

North Korea chose to call off its annual "anti-US imperialism" rally for this year, according to a report from The Associated Press.

The Pentagon says Pyongyang has indicated several times that they have as many as 200 sets of remains that could be those of United States soldiers who died in the war.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said he will not put a timeline on negotiations for North Korea's denuclearization, contradicting a senior defense official who said Washington would soon present a timeline to North Korea with "specific asks".

Mattis will also push for more regional security cooperation from China by pointing out that the suspension of US military exercises with South Korea satisfies a major Chinese strategic objective, which is the real reason China has insisted so strongly on its "freeze-for-freeze" plan that made suspension of American exercises a precondition for nuclear talks with North Korea.

News reports are also addressing President Trump differently, calling him by his title and full name instead of just his last name which is how U.S. officials are traditionally referenced by the regime's media.

"We'll know pretty soon if they're going to operate in good faith or not", the official told reporters travelling with James Mattis, the USA defence secretary, on a trip to Asia.

Uruguay vs. Saudi Arabia Preview
Saudi Arabia have conceded 14 headed goals since their debut in 1994 in World Cups, more than any other team over that period. It also put host Russian Federation into the next round while eliminating both Saudi Arabia and Egypt at the same time .

Last week, China hosted North Korea's Kim.

And on Sunday, U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said he is hopeful North Korea would soon return the remains of U.S. service members killed during the Korean War.

On Monday, Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White walked those comments back in a pair of tweets.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a joint document between the two leaders, outlining their commitment to the complete denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula.

Japan has been eyeing prospects for a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, at which Prime Minister Shinzo Abe hopes to tackle the issue of Japanese citizens abducted decades ago by the North.

"One thing is really clear, is that the Kim Jong Un leadership is very much anxious about making important changes, exposing the system to the influence of outside powers", said Yonsei University's Bong Young-shik. "We have a great chairman, Kim, we have great chemistry".

Pompeo, who has been charged with leading negotiations aimed at persuading North Korea to give up a nuclear weapons program that threatens the United States, said he would "constantly reassess" whether enough progress was being made to continue talks.
