U.S. screens extra employees in China over thriller well being points

The United States has evacuated several more government workers out of the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou after medical testing revealed they might have been affected by unexplained health incidents that have already hurt US personnel in Cuba, the State Department said Wednesday.

In October, at least 24 Americans at the U.S. Embassy in Cuba complained of unexplained illnesses that the State Department at the time called "health attacks".

A US medical team is also on the ground in Guangzhou doing initial evaluations to see if more people need to be sent home, the Associated Press has reported. "We are in contact with USA officials and are closely monitoring developments".

Lenzi informed the Occasions he resided in the identical condo tower because the officer evacuated in April and suffered in current months from what he known as "neurological signs".

Four American members of staff at the United States consulate in Guangzhou referred Reuters to the Beijing embassy press office when asked about the situation.

The initial health alert department officials put out after they learned that one of the employees in the Guangzhou had experienced symptoms made it sound like it was an isolated case. The symptoms included dizziness, nausea, headaches, hearing loss, and inability to concentrate. He said they had not put them together until the State Department issued the health alert last month. US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said that "a number of individuals" had been brought to the US but didn't say how many were affected or evacuated.

"For the latest incident according to my information, the U.S. hasn't conducted any communication with China".

United States officials have detailed how personnel came in Cuba to experience a variety of symptoms including sharp ear pain, headaches, ringing in one ear, vertigo, disorientation, attention issues and signs consistent with mild traumatic brain injury or concussion. That's where doctors have been treating and studying patients previously evacuated from the U.S. Embassy in Havana.

Vino Rosso finished fourth, followed by Tenfold , Bravazo , Free Drop Billy , Restoring Hope, Blended Citizen, and Noble Indy. Gronkowski was a bit green in the stretch, changing leads several times under Jose Ortiz, but ran well to finish second.

The incidents have raised fears the unexplained issues that started in Cuba in 2016 have expanded to other countries. On Wednesday night they were flown to the USA with their children, including a three-year-old son who was also affected.

Nauert on Wednesday reiterated that the "safety and security of US personnel and their families is our top priority".

The U.S. Embassy in China sent its second alert in two weeks Friday to its citizens over unexplained health issues that have prompted the evacuation of a number of U.S. government employees working at a consulate in a southern city.

"The State Department has been and will continue to be diligent and transparent in its response to our employees' concerns", she added.

United States officials have said that the employee's symptoms were consistent with the ailments that U.S. diplomats experienced in Cuba a year ago.

Nauert also said that remaining US government personnel and their families in Guangzhou would also be able to request testing if they "noted concerning symptoms or wanted baseline screening".

The U.S. first pulled out all nonessential staff in Cuba in September, followed shortly after by the expulsion of 15 Cuban diplomats from their U.S. post.

The Canadian government in August acknowledged that at least one of its diplomats suffered from similar symptoms and experienced hearing loss after serving in Havana, leading to speculation that Russian Federation, not Cuba, was responsible for the health incidents.
