Brooklyn Family Attacked With Acetone And Brooms By Nail Salon Workers

In video of the incident, two workers smacked the customers with broomsticks as they ran out the door.

The fight was captured on cell phone and surveillance video.

Police said Thomas hit an employee, who then in turn struck the customer with a broom.

The incident occurred after a customer complained about her $5 eyebrow service Friday.

"They always treat us horribly", said another. Both she and the salon's owners agree that she wasn't happy with how the eyebrow wax turned out. Customer Christina Thomas was charged with misdemeanor assault and also released on her own recognizance. The workers take broomsticks and pummel the women.

By Monday night, the video had racked up hundreds of thousands of views.

"So I'm at the nail salon and they f****d up a lady's eyebrow and she refused to pay, then a fight broke out", Ms Maduka said in the post. Thomas says that when she refused to pay for the eyebrow job that she thought was done poorly, an argument ensued and escalated. "I said, 'Sit down, let me call the police".

The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office says the investigation is ongoing, and charges will be evaluated accordingly.

Zhing was hospitalized with visible injuries to her face and body, and Thomas refused medical attention, according to police.

The NY Post estimates around 150 people showed up to protest the nail salon on Monday, many holding signs reading "Black $$$ matter", "They beat black women here", and "Don't spend here".

The customer's grandmother was hit with a broom handle after the dispute inside New Red Apple Nails.

"There is no respect for people in this neighbourhood", Gavin Gibbs, a 49-year-old East Flatbush resident, told The New York Daily News.

Hours earlier, officers had to do the same thing back at 1426 Nostrand Ave. and helped employees get through protesters to safety.

One outraged woman, Jasmine Johnson, shared footage of herself taking part in a protest outside the salon, which reportedly forced it to close for the day. "Anytime a store doesn't respect us, we're going to shut it down".
