Guys in Houston Pull Off a Brilliant McDonald's Ad Scheme

The Asian pair noticed there wasn't a lot of diversity on the walls at the restaurant in Pearland so they made a decision to create their own poster. "I hope this can open the eyes to not just McDonald's, but other major companies can embrace different ethnicities", Maravilla told CNN.

Maravilla and his friend Christian Toledo cooked up a plan.

He dressed up as an employee, and with the help of friends, put up the poster while real staff were not looking. It was unclear whether McDonald's knew the poster's origins or if the eatery would allow it to remain. Jevh decided that a photo of him and Christian posing as students would work best. And hopefully one day I could see someone like me on the big screen.

They lay in wait for over an hour until the coast was clear.

What they did not expect is how viral their prank would get in social media, as his post has now garnered nearly 230,400 retweets and 927,910 likes, as of this writing.

"We put adhesive on the back so it could be taken down".

"I wanted people to think it was impressive that it's been there for so long", Jevh told Inc.

They pulled off the prank on 13 July and the poster has been up ever since.

Amazon joins $1 trillion club, on pace to overtake Apple
But in 2018, Amazon first reported profit of nearly $2 billion and then another quarter of more than $2 billion. The development comes just a little over a month after technology giant Apple reached the $1 trillion mark.

Maravilla further explained his motive for the prank in his vlog posted on YouTube last August 2: "If you notice, there isn't a lot of Asians represented in the media".

"We all deserve equality and all races deserve recognition".

"When I was growing up, Asian people only appeared in movies as martial artists or amusing side characters".

Then they set out to ideal the photo, which needed a bit of doctoring.

The tweet promoting their no-takedown streak has garnered more than 950,000 likes and 240,000 retweets as of posting.

His Youtube video about it has also been watched by thousands.

What the future holds for the poster is a question only McDonald's can answer. "I kind of hope they will ask us to be representative models for them, like for Asian men".
