Jeff Fager Out as '60 Minutes' Executive Producer Following Harassment Claims

Moonves resigned on Sunday after six women accused the 68-year-old television executive of sexual misconduct in an article published by The New Yorker - which is in addition to six other women who went public with their allegations in a previous New Yorker report published in July.

CBS News president David Rhodes said Wednesday that Fager was sacked for violating company policy.

Meanwhile, Duncan has made the media rounds discussing the text and sharing why she chose to release the text. Murder, She Wrote was canceled in 1996, when Lansbury was 70 years old. "Leslie is a good man and a loving father, devoted husband and inspiring corporate leader", she tweeted at the time.

'Bill Owens will manage the 60 Minutes team as Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews and I begin the search for a new executive producer of the program'.

The extraordinary drama within CBS News is an outgrowth of an investigation into Fager's behavior.

His exit follows articles by Ronan Farrow in the New Yorker that included accusations that Fager inappropriately touched employees, and a report by The Washington Post's Erik Wemple that Fager tolerated years of alleged abusive conduct by a senior producer.

During that time Thomason said she was told Moonves" mantra regarding female talent was, "Why would I wanna cast "em if I don't wanna f-k 'em?"

Mr Fager himself denies harassment, and told reporters he had been fired over a "harsh" text he sent to a colleague.

Duncan said she reached out to Fager on Sunday, after a New Yorker story detailed an allegation against him in which a woman said he groped her at a party.

The passengers and crew "saved the lives of countless Americans and they saved our capital from a devastating strike", Trump said. He said the 40 passengers and crew on United Flight 93 embodied heroism when they fought back against the hijackers.

And she has not made another statement regarding her husband, not after another round of allegations came to light, and not after Moonves was ousted at CBS.

"This is an outrageous claim and it didn't happen", Fager said in response.

Some CBS board members wanted to stand by Les Moonves in the face of his swelling sexual misconduct scandal - but they turned on him after learning he was trying to buy one accuser's silence, according to a new report.

CBS launched an investigation into Fager over the summer.

Farrow continued reporting. He heard from additional women who lodged serious accusations against Moonves.

Sources at CBS News said there was a consensus that the network couldn't take action in the Fager case until the Moonves case was settled.

Moonves had already been in exit talks with CBS. It could also be that she is making a statement to the network that she isn't going anywhere, no matter what controversy might be attached to Leslie Moonves. Rose had been a co-anchor since 2012 on "CBS This Morning" and a contributing correspondent on "60 Minutes".

"Jeff Fager is leaving the company effective immediately", Rhodes wrote.
