Maurizio Sarri says Liverpool are still 'step ahead' of Chelsea after draw

Substitute Daniel Sturridge scored a stunning equaliser a minute from time as Liverpool snatched a dramatic draw at Chelsea in the Premier League.

The English striker sent a long-range shot dipping over Kepa Arrizabalaga in the final minute of normal time to cancel out Eden Hazard's crisp finish, which for so long looked like being the victor.

Mark Lawrenson has admitted he does not think Willian is too far behind the level of his Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard, after seeing both in action in the Blues' 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

"As long as we play like we did tonight we will win football games".

"I'd like to think [I've scored better goals], but probably not". This one was a nice goal but as I said it was just about getting a result.

"It's a team game". He's in the best shape since I've known him. "It's important to keep pushing forward, having a positive outlook".

It was a really great game to watch, high intensity and high quality, and even though City are rightly the bookies title favourites, they have a couple of serious challengers to watch out for.

While Hazard's slide was on display on Wednesday, after the Belgium global scored a superb solo goal against Liverpool in the EFL Cup, the 27-year old is ready to give up the move.

Man Utd tabled £50M bid for Arsenal midfielder Ramsey
With his current contract set to expire next summer, the Welsh worldwide has been in talks with Arsenal over a new long-term deal. Aaron Ramsey looks set to leave Arsenal next summer after the Gunners withdrew the 27 year-old's new contract agreement.

"What a game, a spectacular football game", he told BBC Sport. But I want him to want to be decisive, to want to score in these situations, but you could really see the first ball he missed then it was not in the right position.

I'm completely fine. We only gave them one proper chance.

It's hard. We had chances, we played fantastic football.

Sturridge has had little to celebrate over several injury blighted seasons at Liverpool, but with one deft swipe of his left boot on Saturday he rescued a last-gasp point at Chelsea and reminded his manager of his rare finishing prowess. His once-clinical form in front of goal evaded him once again against Chelsea as he spurned a number of opportunities with poor finishing and poorer decision-making.

Let us know in the comments.

He said: "Daniel has always been in my thoughts, but he was never able to prove it".

Sturridge was shipped out to West Brom on loan in January in an attempt to boost his match sharpness.

"It has paid off for him, it's nice and absolutely deserved".
